CtBF - Everyday Dorie - My Newest Gougeres
We're ba-ack! Its good to be a Dorista again!
Our first recipe in Everyday Dorie is her Newest Gougeres. I thought her old gougeres were good but these are even better. I baked a few and put the rest in the freezer so I'll be ready for a cocktail party in an instant. Why don't people have cocktail parties anymore? They used to be THE way to entertain and I miss them. Maybe I'll organize an impromptu one soon.
Stop by the Cook the Book Fridays site. You might want to join us!
Here's a gratuitous pic of my new granddaughter and her dedicated staff:)

You never stopped being a Dorista, you know...
ReplyDeleteSo glad you're back cooking with us again. I've missed you.
If you have an impromptu cocktail party, I sure would love to come!
I would also like to come to your cocktail party and get a chance to hold that sweet squishy baby!
ReplyDeleteI miss the old style cocktail parties too. Lets bring them back! And what Betsy said, once a Dorista, always a Dorista.
ReplyDeleteGood to see another Dorista coming back. It makes for great fun cooking together at CTBF.
ReplyDeleteOh Guyla, she's a beauty! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteAs much as I love dinner parties, cocktail parties seem to be more up my alley these days. Especially with delicious bites like this one tucked into the freezer!
These gougeres are delightful! Nice to meet you too! :)
ReplyDeleteYour granddaughter is adorable!
Swoon. You know how happy I am to be here on your site :) And to be going on this adventure again myself. While Nana has left me in the dust as usual with her amazing organizational, technical and cooking skills - she has been cooking along to the David Lebovitz book while her slacker daughter took a blogging sabbatical- I am over the moon to be back. And while your gougeres of course look amazing, I am loving that photo of the newest addition. She is gorgeous, congrats to all !
ReplyDeleteYes, a Dorista cocktail party! We're so happy to be cooking with you again!
ReplyDeleteYour new family addition is just gorgeous! Congratulations!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd the gougers are pretty special as well :)
I froze half of mine as well, was very surprised at how well they bake up! Look forward to cooking together x
Congrats on the latest addition to your family! I'm THRILLED to see you back cooking along with us! XO
ReplyDeleteDorista status is life long, BTW,
ReplyDeleteYour granddaughter is stunning (as are her lovely parents) - look forward to seeing more glimpses of those grandbabies. So happy to see you back for this go around.
Glad you are back! I am happy the Doristas and cooking together again. Your gougeres look delicious and your granddaughter looks adorable!
ReplyDeleteWell, this is a treat, to be cooking with you again, Guyla. I really like this cookbook so look forward to being back with the old gang and even newbies and cooking the book. As for cocktail parties, who doesn't want to bring those back. I must admit that I've given into the small dinner parties with lots of cocktails to kick it off. Love seeing that darling granddaughter of yours although I think I got a preview on Facebook, didn't I? Doesn't Gary just love little girls?
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute picture! She's lovely. It's so good to have you back cooking with us!
ReplyDeleteThis is Teresa from One Wet Foot, btw. :)
DeleteCocktail parties are always a good idea! And not only were these delicious, but a great recipe to make ahead, and then just bake before you serve them! Thanks for sharing that picture too - how wonderful!!
